Density of barite is 4.1-4.6g/cm3 with its good floatablity, so the beneficiation of barite is mainly floatation separation and gravity separation. Here is a flow sheet of gravity separation to share with you.
Density of barite is bigger than that of gangue, and the density difference makes gravity separation a good separation efficiency for barite ore. The gravity separation machines involved is mainly jigger. There is a limitation for the feedign size of the jigger, so crushing needs suitable crushers. Jaw crusher is alway chosen while hammer crusher is not. The crushed barite granules is not even, and a vibrating screen can be used to classify the crushed barite bafore going to the jigger. And here jigging capacity is guaranteed while the final output size is already classified. There is much water in the output from jigger, and if thw water percentage needed to be low, a dewatering screen can bee needed. But usually, there is no need of dewatering screen, kind of nature drying can be ok.
